Errol de Beer
Our go-to-guy and partner in Africa, Errol has birding in his blood. Errol has been birding for over 30 years and guiding trips through various parts of Africa and Madagascar for the last decade. Brought up on a farm in the North West Province of South Africa, his fascination with birds and nature started at a young age. There was no stopping him once he received his first decent pair of binoculars at age 14.
Always up for a challenge and ever eager to find rare and elusive birds, Errol has guided several top listers on private tours to some of the most remote parts of Africa, but he is equally at home leading our standard and slightly more relaxed trips. His ability to adapt his pace and birding style to best suit that of his group makes him a unique asset on any tour.
So if you’re joining one of our standard trips or looking for the perfect guide to help you design that ultimate custom trip to find those African rarities that have been eluding you all these years, Errol is the perfect fit.

Kevin Forsberg
Having grown up in the scenic Eastern Cape Province, it’s no surprise Kevin took to birding like a fish to water. Of course, his family, and in particular his brother and father who were both great nature enthusiasts, played a big role, too. By age twelve his interest really took off and by age 15, after receiving his first pair of binoculars, nothing stood in his way as he explored his home patch and beyond. Birding took a back seat while Kevin opted to focus on his young family. Even so, family holidays were carefully planned to prime birding destinations, much to the dismay of his children. With the boys all grown up, Kevin is back in full force and birding is again taking up most of his spare time, having expanded his birding to several African destinations as well as abroad to places like the USA, Antarctica and Europe. Kevin, a qualified Chartered Accountant, is now guiding several of our trips in Africa whenever he takes a break from crunching numbers. His infectious sense of humor is often a highlight for many, and with a thorough knowledge of the birds of Southern Africa and where to find them, he will certainly turn your visit to Africa into an unforgettable experience.

David Nkosi
Southern African tour leader and bird conservation advisor David Nkosi was one of the original Wakkerstroom (South Africa) bird guides and he became a birding legend there around this endemic hotspot, thanks to his amazingly sharp eyes and ears. Wakkerstroom's loss was Cape Town's gain as he moved to the "Mother City" several years ago. Here, David learned to find all the birds of the Cape, including the real skulkers. Bird conservation takes up a great deal of his time these days, and this work has taken him all around the southern African region; he can now find birds all over South Africa, Namibia, Botswana and Mozambique. David loves showing visitors birds, and you'll find that his birding skills put most other guides to shame, plus he is the most likable person, so you'll not want to say goodbye to him at the end of the tour. He's got a wonderful sense of humor and is, simply put, a really decent, friendly person.
